Yonhap News, South Korea's news hub, aims to become one of the world's top 10 global news agencies.

CEO’s Message

Yonhap News Agency is South Korea's premier news wire service that delivers news from all around the world on a real-time basis.

Most importantly, under the law guiding the promotion of news agencies, Yonhap was officially named South Korea's sole, representative news agency. Since the designation, Yonhap has assumed its public responsibility of guarding informational sovereignty, narrowing the divide in informational access, and serving the people's right to know.

Yonhap has the most extensive network of news coverage among all domestic news agencies and provides more than 3,000 news items per day in and out of the country.

Yonhap stands at the forefront of protecting informational sovereignty by providing local and international news from South Korea's own viewpoint. It also serves as a window to South Korea by sending out Korean news in six different foreign languages -- English, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, Spanish and French.

The news distributed by Yonhap is picked up by newspapers and TV broadcasters. It is delivered to an even broader audience through online outlets including portals, mobile platforms and IPTV, allowing Yonhap to contribute to enhancing people's informational welfare.

Yonhap pledges to stay true to these responsibilities as the country's sole, representative news agency by delivering news quickly and correctly.

The executives at Yonhap and I are committed to providing premium news service that meets public expectations. We promise to spare no efforts in making Yonhap a global news agency commensurate with the country's status.
