Vice financial regulator to launch IR in Singapore, Australia

SEOUL, May 9 (Yonhap) -- Vice chairman of South Korea's financial regulator will launch investor relations events in Singapore and Australia this week to promote Korea's financial policies, the regulator said Sunday.

Kwon Hyouk-se, deputy chief of the Financial Services Commission, will fly to Singapore on Monday and give a speech at a Deutsche Bank-sponsored conference, the commission said. In the speech, the vice chairman plans to brief key investors on Korea's successful emergence from the global financial crisis and its future financial policy directions, it said.

Kwon will fly to Sydney on Thursday and meet with financial authorities and investors there to hold another investor relations event.

He will hold interviews with The Financial Times and Bloomberg before wrapping up his trip on Saturday.
