Samsung sells more than 15 mln smartphones in China in Q2

SEOUL, Aug. 13 (Yonhap) -- Samsung Electronics Co., the world's largest smartphone maker, sold more than 15 million smartphones in China in the second quarter of this year, retaining its position as the top smartphone seller in the world's most populous country for six straight quarters, data showed Tuesday.

Samsung sold some 15.3 million smartphones in China, home to the world's largest smartphone market by volume, in the April-June period, accounting for a 19.4 percent market share, up 0.9 percentage point from the previous quarter, according to the data compiled by Strategy Analytics, a U.S. market research group.
