SEOUL, Jan. 3 (Yonhap) -- Several much-anticipated mobile games are scheduled to hit the South Korean market later this month, game company officials here said Wednesday.

Local gamemaker GAMEVIL is slated to launch its latest massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) "Royal Blood" on Jan. 12 that features a very high degree of visual resolution.

"Royal Blood," a main project for the small player GAMEVIL, had a large development team made up of more than 100 people. The game required more than 2 1/2 years to complete.

The company said the number of preregistrations for the game has surpassed the 1 million mark since launching preorders on its official website last year.

Online gaming firm Nexon Korea Co. is also slated to launch its new mobile game "Durango: Wild Lands" at the end of this month.

The MMORPG is a multiplayer game set in a primitive alternate universe inhabited by dinosaurs. Players use force or kindness to tame dinosaurs and make them their pets.

Small player Pearl Abyss is also set to launch the mobile version of its mega-hit online game "Black Desert" at the end of this month.

The game, featuring a high degree of graphics, was developed by more than 50 people over the past two years, the company said.
