SEOUL, Feb. 7 (Yonhap) -- Online gaming firm Nexon Korea Co. said Wednesday its massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) "Durango: Wild Land" has recorded 3.3 million downloads in South Korea in just two weeks since its launch.

The open world sandbox MMORPG -- set in a primitive universe dominated by dinosaurs -- became officially available on both Android and iOS on Jan. 25, the company said.

The game became a very popular app in the Google Play Store and in Apple's App Store immediately after its launch, the company said.

Players enter the world of Durango after a mysterious accident and try to stay alive while going up against carnivorous dinosaurs in dangerous conditions.

In order to survive, the players must use the land to their advantage and utilize modern materials and technologies from their former lives to craft weapons and tools.
