Korea's Wonder Girls to perform on FOX
SEOUL, Dec. 4 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's female pop group Wonder Girls will perform on the popular FOX television show "So You Think You Can Dance," the group's local agent said Friday.
The South Korean divas, who made their U.S. debut this past summer, will take the stage with American Idol Season Eight winner Kris Allen on Dec. 9, before votes are announced on six contestants scheduled to perform during the following week's finale of the popular U.S. program, JYP Entertainment said.
Wonder Girls will perform their hit song "Nobody" while Allen will sing his newest single "Live like You're Dying."
"It's impressive that an all-girl Korean Pop band is still showing up on American airwaves," the U.S. program said on its blog, calling the Wonder Girls a "pop sensation." "Already a hit in Asia, the Wonder Girls are striking a chord with a young U.S. audience, having just completed their first U.S. concert tour with the Jonas Brothers."
Wonder Girls gave their first official performance in the United States as the opening act for American Idol group the Jonas Brothers in Washington D.C. in July, selling 30,000 copies of their debut single in the country.
The group also earned the No. 76 position on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, the first time that a South Korean music group has debuted on the chart.
