Jang Hyun-seung to bolt from BEAST

2016/04/20 09:20

SEOUL, April 20 (Yonhap) -- Jang Hyun-seung, a member of the popular K-pop boy group BEAST, left the team for a solo debut, the group's management said.

"With Jang's departure today, BEAST will be reorganized into a five-member team with Yoon Doo-joon, Lee Gi-kwang, Yang Yo-seob, Yong Jun-hyung and Son Dong-woon," Cube Entertainment said in a release Tuesday. "Jang will devote himself to music as a solo singer, not as a BEAST member, in the future."

Jang and five other members have long discussed the separation due to their differing views on music, Cube explained.

"But it wasn't an easy decision for both the members and the company," it said.

Despite the reorganization, there will be no change in the group's future schedules, including its plan to release a new album this year, it added.
