K-pop BigBang greets throngs of fans in Japan fan club tour

SEOUL, May 30 (Yonhap) -- South Korean pop star BigBang closed its Japan fan tour event with impressive numbers, the boy band's agency said on Monday.

In the last round of "BigBang Fanclub Event - Fantastic Baby 2016" that wrapped up on Sunday in Kobe, the five-member act -- with G-Dragon, Taeyang, T.O.P, Daesung and Seungri -- threw its first event for its premium fanclub "VIP Japan" in two years, YG Entertainment said.

In the first-tier fan event, BigBang greeted a total of 280,000 local fans in 27 concerts in four major Japanese cities. The South Korean band arranged special talk shows, games and live performances for its Japanese fans.

Celebrating the 10th anniversary of its debut, BigBang has been prolific with concerts and overseas activities this year. From July 29 to 31, BigBang will hold a large-scale concert at Nagai Stadium in Osaka, Japan for some 165,000 local fans.
