SEOUL, Aug. 3 (Yonhap) -- South Korean boy group MonstaX and Korea-China K-pop girl group Cosmic Girls have teamed up to form the unit "Yteen," their agency said Wednesday.

The temporary project brings together the two seven-member acts for joint activities, according to Starship Entertainment.

Yteen will start by modeling for and promoting KT Corp., one of the big-three mobile carriers here. The K-pop group will primarily promote KT's "Yteen plan," targeting teenage customers.

"In addition to the modeling job, Yteen will release EPs, music videos and various entertainment content, just like any other idol group," Starship Entertainment said in a press release.

Yteen will make its official launch early this month, the agency added, without pinpointing a date.
