(Olympics) S. Korean short track skater Seo Yi-ra misses men's 1,500m

GANGNEUNG, South Korea, Feb. 10 (Yonhap) -- South Korean male short track speed skater Seo Yi-ra failed to advance to the finals in the men's 1,500 meter event at the PyeongChang Winter Olympics.

Seo finished behind Semen Elistraov, a member of Olympic Athletes from Russia, and Canada's Charles Hamelin with a time of 2:11.126 during the first semifinal race.

The skater sought to narrow the gap with his competitors with the third lap to go, but failed to catch up the Russian and Canadian rivals. He was only 0.002 second behind Hamelin.
