(Olympics) S. Korean tandem finishes 9th in men's doubles luge

PYEONGCHANG, South Korea, Feb. 14 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's Park Jin-yong and Cho Jung-myung finished ninth in the men's doubles luge competition at the PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games on Wednesday

Park and Cho posted a combined time of 1 minute, 32.672 seconds after their two runs to finish ninth among 20 teams at the 23rd Winter Games in PyeongChang, Gangwon Province, some 180 kilometers east of Seoul.

The South Korean duo, who finished 18th among 19 teams at the 2014 Winter Olympics, was 10th with a time of 46.396 seconds after their first run at Olympic Sliding Centre, then improved one spot to ninth following their second try at 46.276.

Reigning Olympic champions Tobias Wendl and Tobias Arlt of Germany won the gold medal wit a time of 1:31.697, which was 0.008 seconds faster than Peter Penz and Georg Fischler of Austria.

Toni Eggert and Sascha Benecken of Germany took bronze with a time of 1:31.987.
