SEOUL, Sept. 12 (Yonhap) -- South Korea on Tuesday welcomed the latest sanctions resolution adopted by the U.N. Security Council, saying it represents the international community's renewed commitment not to tolerate North Korea's push to develop nuclear weapons.

The government also said in a statement that adopting Resolution 2375 sends a "grave" warning to Pyongyang that its continued pursuit of weapons of mass destruction will only deepen its diplomatic and economic isolation.
