SEOUL, Sept. 4 (Yonhap) -- Rookie singer Jeong Se-woon, a former contestant in Mnet's idol audition program "Produce 101," said he has no regrets in not making the final cut for the famed project band Wanna One.
"I have no regrets in not being part of Wanna One. It would have been good if I were together with them but I'm thankful for being able to share my music now," Jeong said during a media showcase for his debut album "Ever" on Aug. 31 at the Baekam Art Hall in southern Seoul.
Jeong finished 12th in the Mnet audition series, hence failed to make the final cut in the 11 member band.
"I'm really happy for my friends who ended up becoming successful," said Jeong.
The 20-year-old singer signed up with Starship Entertainment as an idol trainee in July 2014 after appearing in SBS TV's singing audition program "K-pop Star" in 2013. Jeong's title track "Just U" released on Aug. 31 reached No. 1 on three music streaming services the following day.
