Movie stars shine at rebooted Daejong Awards 2017/10/30 11:59

SEOUL, Oct. 30 (Yonhap) -- The 54th Daejong Film Awards was held at the Sejong Center for Performing Arts in central Seoul on Oct. 25.

Many film industry people, including Song Kang-ho, Lee Byung-hun, Seol Kyung-gu, Zo In-sung, Son Ye-jin, Yoona of Girls' Generation and Minho of SHINee, showed up on the red carpet as they arrived at the annual awards ceremony.

During the ceremony, "A Taxi Driver," a box office hit about a South Korean pro-democracy uprising, won best picture and best planning awards, but the biggest winner of the night was "Anarchist from Colony," which took five awards, including best director and best actress.

The best actor prize went to Seol Kyung-gu, who played the underboss of a large-scale drug trafficking ring in "The Merciless" by director Byun Sung-hyun.
