SEOUL, Dec. 7 (Yonhap) -- K-pop band BTS's new Japanese single album has conquered Japan's main music chart on release day, according to its agency Thursday.

"Mic Drop/DNA/Crystal Snow," the band's eighth Japanese single, climbed to No. 1 on the Oricon Daily Single Chart for Tuesday, selling 269,861 CD copies on release day, according to music sales tracker Oricon and Big Hit Entertainment, the band's agency.

The three-track record contains Japanese versions of its recent hits "DNA" and "Mic Drop," along with "Crystal Snow," a seasonal winter holiday song dedicated to the band's Japanese fans. The album became BTS' fifth Japanese single to top the Oricon Daily Single Chart.

The global K-pop sensation is scheduled to perform on Japanese broadcaster TV Asahi's year-end live music broadcast "Music Station Super Live 2017" on Dec. 22.
