SEOUL, Feb. 12 (Yonhap) -- South Korean pop group Girls' Day carried the torch for the PyeongChang Winter Olympics on Feb. 8.
The four-member group took part in a section of the torch relay in Gangneung, one day before the Olympics' opening ceremony.
The band, honorary ambassadors for the Winter Games, showed up holding the flaming torch high.
"We were surprised to see so many Gangneung citizens gathering here and cheering us in loud voices despite this freezing weather, and we appreciate this," the group said. "We'll never forget this moment when the four of us gathered after a long time and joined in the torch relay."
It was the first time that all four members of the band had appeared in public together since KCON 2017 Australia, a global K-pop convention hosted by South Korea's CJ E&M in September.
Girl's Day finished their part of the torch relay without a hitch amid a warm welcome from Gangneung citizens.
The group released its fifth and last EP, "Girl's Day Everyday#5," featuring lead track "I'll be yours," last year.
