Preorders for iPhone 4 top 60,000 in 4 hours

SEOUL, Aug. 18 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's telecom giant KT Corp. said Wednesday it had received more than 60,000 preorders for the iPhone 4 in less than four hours after it started receiving reservations for the latest model of Apple Inc.'s smartphone.

Upon opening at 6 a.m. Wednesday, the preorder Web site for the iPhone 4 experienced a delay for about one hour as the server was overloaded by tens of thousands of users accessing the site at the same time, according to a KT spokesman.
