Korea's weather satellite sends infrared images
SEOUL, Aug. 20 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's weather agency said Friday it has successfully received infrared images of the globe sent by the country's first ocean-weather satellite launched in June.

The Chollian, which was built in cooperation with France's EADS Astrium and blasted off on an Ariane rocket on June 27 from French Guiana, sent infrared photography on Aug. 17, showing temperatures of wind, clouds and the earth, according to the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA).
