S. Korea to deploy robotic fish to monitor river conditions next year
SEOUL, Aug. 29 (Yonhap) -- South Korea will deploy small groups of robotic fish in its major rivers starting next year to check underwater environmental conditions, the government said Sunday.

The Ministry of Knowledge Economy said it will designate one or two rivers in 2011 as testbeds and deploy fish-like robots with sensors and swimming control mechanisms needed to operate for sustained periods of time underwater.
