LG Electronics' new smartphone to use dual-core chip by NVIDIA
By Lee Youkyung
SEOUL, Sept. 7 (Yonhap) -- LG Electronics Inc., the world's third-largest mobile phone maker by shipments, said Tuesday that its forthcoming smartphone will use a dual-core processor by graphic chip maker NVIDIA Corp., as the company seeks to produce faster smartphones.

One of the LG's Optimus smartphone series set for a release in the fourth quarter will be powered by NVIDIA's Tegra 2 dual-core processor, which offers the Internet twice as fast as other phones with a one 1-gigahertz processor, the company said in an e-mail.
The Tegra 2 also offers a gaming experience that is about five times faster than single-core processor phones, LG said.
