Samsung, Hynix heads see weak chip prices till early 2011
By Lee Youkyung
ILSAN, SOUTH KOREA, Oct. 12 (Yonhap) -- The top executives of Samsung Electronics Co. and Hynix Semiconductor Inc. said Tuesday they expect computer memory chip prices to trend lower until the first quarter of 2011 amid weak PC sales.

Contract prices of dynamic random access memory (DRAM), mainly used in computers to store data, plummeted more than 20 percent in September from their peak in May, according to DRAMeXchange, a semiconductor industry tracker, as demand for PCs in the second half remains low.
