(Yonhap Editorial) Speed needed to set Korean keypad standard
SEOUL, Oct. 15 (Yonhap) -- South Korea urgently needs to set a standard Korean keypad layout for mobile devices to facilitate international use.

Prompted by media reports that China has set itself to the task, the ruling Grand National Party raised the issue of inconsistent keypad layouts for Hangeul, the Korean script, on cellular phones that South Koreans and North Koreans alike use. The Knowledge Economy Ministry has also announced a plan to promote a standard Hangeul keypad as soon as possible.
