Koreans among lowest in English ability: report
SEOUL, June 3 (Yonhap) -- Despite South Korea's fervor for learning English, the nation ranks near the bottom in English language ability among 20 countries tested, a report said Tuesday.
According to the accredited International English Language Testing System (IELTS), Koreans' average score was 5.21 out of 9 in the test taken by immigrants, job seekers, and those looking to study abroad. It ranked only above the United Arab Emirates, which ranked last with 4.53.
