Seoul residents evacuate for removal of unexploded bomb
SEOUL, Nov. 3 (Yonhap) -- Hundreds of residents and students in downtown Seoul were evacuated Monday while military personnel worked to remove an unexploded bomb apparently dropped during the 1950-53 Korean War, police said.
The police sealed off a 500-meter radius around the construction site of a high school in the city's Jongno Ward after they were tipped off by a worker at the site, who found the 500-kilogram bomb while digging in the ground.
