(3rd LD) F-5F fighter jets crash during drill, 3 dead
SEOUL, March 2 (Yonhap) -- Two F-5F fighter jets crashed into a mountain near Gangneung, killing three pilots during a training mission Tuesday, officials and witnesses said.
All three pilots of the planes were killed, an Air Force spokesman said, saying that their bodies, segments of pilots' clothes and boots, and debris from the planes were found near a mountain peak in Pyeongchang, Gangwon Province.
Mountain climbers had reported to local fire stations that they had found the wreckage of military jets near the top of Mount Hwangbyeong, according to officials.
