(Yonhap Interview) N. Korea may boycott nuclear talks if conservative wins election: former PM
By Kim Hyun SEOUL, Sept. 9 (Yonhap) -- North Korea will likely boycott multilateral talks on its nuclear disarmament if a conservative candidate wins the December presidential election, former Prime Minister Lee Hae-chan said Sunday. Lee, now vying for the nomination of the pro-government United New Democratic Party, predicted North Korea will wait and see if a conservative administration would change its inter-Korean policy from the current liberal engagement approach.
The conservative Grand National Party candidate, Lee Myung-bak, is enjoying an overwhelming lead with an approval rating of more than 50 percent.
