(LEAD) Gov't to halt poultry sales in traditional open markets
SEOUL, April 30 (Yonhap) -- The government said Wednesday that it will temporarily halt the sale of ducks and chickens in traditional open markets to prevent the further spread of bird flu in the country.
The Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries said the measures, which are to go into effect immediately, will involve markets in the country's provincial cities and towns.
