Test of conscience

Government authorities yesterday began a "sweeping" inquiry of education offices - and eventually all elementary, middle and high schools - to look into whether individual schools had rigged the results of the nationwide student achievement test last October.

False reporting of the test results has so far been confirmed in Imsil, Gongju and Daegu. We fear that more localities will be added to the shameful list as a result of the investigation.
