U.S. beef imports surge in first two months of 2010
SEOUL, March 26 (Yonhap) -- U.S. beef imports to South Korea surged in the first two months of this year, raising speculation that public concerns about the safety of the meat have eased, data compiled by a state-run farm trading corporation said Friday.
Korea Agro-Fisheries Trade Corp. said inbound shipments of U.S. beef soared to 13,802 tons in the January-February period on a customs cleared basis, up 57.2 percent from the same period last year.
