Six killed as bus plunges off road in S. Korea
SAMCHEOK, South Korea, March 30 (Yonhap) -- An intercity bus plunged off a mountainous road in eastern South Korea on Tuesday, killing six and injuring 13 others, police said.
The bus was traveling on a highway in this eastern coastal city of Samcheok when it hit the median strip before veering off the road and then rolling about 50 meters down the hillside at around 11 a.m., police said.
Among the six dead were the driver of the bus and a 38-year-old woman identified only by her family name Kim. Thirteen others, including a 38-year-old Russian woman, were seriously injured and taken to a nearby hospital.
