S. Korean pitcher Kim Byung-hyun signs with Orange County Flyers
SEOUL, May 8 (Yonhap) -- South Korean pitcher Kim Byung-hyun has signed with the Orange Country Flyers of the U.S. Golden Baseball League (GBL), the team said Saturday on its Web site, in an attempt launch a comeback to the Major Leagues, The 31-year-old relief pitcher will be given a pitching rotation this year, the team said, without disclosing details of his contract.
He was released by the San Francisco Giants after one Cactus League appearance in spring training. | | Data picture |
Kim made his Major League debut in 1999 and spent five seasons with the Arizona Diamondbacks primarily as the team's closer, leading the team in saves in 2001 and 2002.
