S. Korean pitcher Kim Byung-hyun signs with Orange County Flyers


SEOUL, May 8 (Yonhap) -- South Korean pitcher Kim Byung-hyun has signed with the Orange Country Flyers of the U.S. Golden Baseball League (GBL), the team said Saturday on its Web site, in an attempt launch a comeback to the Major Leagues,
The 31-year-old relief pitcher will be given a pitching rotation this year, the team said, without disclosing details of his contract.

He was released by the San Francisco Giants after one Cactus League appearance in spring training.

Kim made his Major League debut in 1999 and spent five seasons with the Arizona Diamondbacks primarily as the team's closer, leading the team in saves in 2001 and 2002.
