U.N. resolution on N. Korea aims to curb possible nuclear test
SEOUL, Jan. 22 (Yonhap) -- The U.N. Security Council is poised to pass a resolution this week that calls for tightening existing U.N. sanctions against North Korea as punishment for its December rocket launch as well as being partly aimed at preventing the North from conducting a nuclear test, a Seoul diplomatic source said Tuesday.

South Korea, the United States, China and other Security Council members are circulating the draft resolution and is expected to be put to a vote soon, the source with direct knowledge of the U.N. negotiations said on the condition of anonymity.
