SEOUL, Oct. 22 (Yonhap) -- Thousands of North Korean company-grade military officers and political commissars traveled to the communist country's capital this week for a rare meeting that Seoul analysts believe is aimed at eliciting their loyalty to leader Kim Jong-un, a government source Tuesday.
The meeting, the first of its kind in over a decade, brings together the largest group for such a meeting and comes as North Korea is trying to build up its nuclear arms and its economy at the same time.
