SEOUL, March 31 (Yonhap) -- K-pop girl group TWICE's Taiwanese member Tzuyu has recently passed an exam in Taiwan to certify her middle school education, her agency said Thursday.

JYP Entertainment said "Tzuyu has recently been informed that she passed the test and plans to go to high school in Korea."

On March 20, she took the exam in the southwest city of her hometown Tainan which, if passed, would confirm that she has finished her middle school education without actually attending school.

After she finished the exam, she left messages, along with her autograph, on the desk on which she took the test at the request of an exam supervisor.

According to Taiwanese media reports, she came back her homeland for the first time since the controversy where she was spotted on a South Korean TV show, waving a Taiwanese flag, an incident that caused an uproar in China, which doesn't recognize Taiwan as an independent nation. Media reports added she spiked a great media frenzy and excitement among fans wherever she visited.
