ULAANBAATAR, July 17 (Yonhap) -- President Park Geun-hye received a gift horse from Mongolian President Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj, Park's office Cheong Wa Dae said Sunday, denying a news report that she has rejected the gift.

The horse was given to her during her five-day visit to Mongolia this week. She is currently in Ulaanbaatar on a two-day official visit after attending the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) summit that ended Saturday.

"According to the custom, (the president) has decided to take care of the horse at a special farm (in Mongolia rather than bringing it to South Korea)," presidential spokesman Jung Youn-kuk said in a written statement.

"The Mongolian government reportedly presented horses to representatives of the countries that participated in the 11th ASEM summit, and most countries are said to commission (locals) to take care of their gift horses at special farms."

Park will return home on Monday.
