SEOUL, Jan. 13 (Yonhap) -- South Korean intelligence authorities said Friday that they are checking on a report by local media that some China-based North Korean hackers seem to have defected.
A local broadcasting station, citing Chinese sources, reported Friday that approximately 10 North Korean IT technicians and hackers went missing around 9 p.m. Wednesday in Changchun in the northeastern Chinese province of Jilin.
A North Korean surveillance agent reported the case to the local police after learning that the workers disappeared, the report said.
A government source told Yonhap News Agency that the relevant government agencies were unaware of the case.
