His remarks came after an exit poll showed him as the clear and sure winner of Tuesday's presidential election with 41.4 percent of votes.

The Democratic Party candidate had 39.40 percent of some 11.5 million votes counted so far as of 11:50 p.m.

He was followed by Hong Joon-pyo of the conservative Liberty Korea Party with some 26.6 percent of the votes counted.
