(LEAD) Two drunken N. Koreans cross sea border with S. Korea: military

SEOUL, June 2 (Yonhap) -- A small wooden boat carrying two drunken North Korean men drifted into South Korean waters early Saturday, and South Korea allowed the ship to return to the North after finding little evidence that the men were attempting espionage, the South's military said.

The boat "came 4 kilometers into South Korean waters across the Northern Limit Line (NLL), about 21 kilometers southwest of Yeonpyeong Islets on the West Sea at about 2 a.m. today," the office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said in a statement. NLL refers to the de-facto inter-Korean maritime border in the West Sea.
