IAEA official embarks on trip to Pyongyang for talks on nuclear shutdown
By Sohn Suk-joo SEOUL, June 24 (Yonhap) -- A top official from the U.N. nuclear watchdog on Sunday left Vienna for North Korea to discuss ways of monitoring and verifying the shutdown of the North's main nuclear reactor.
Olli Heinonen, deputy director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), is to arrive in Pyongyang on Tuesday for a five-day visit. He is to meet three of his colleagues in Beijing on Monday and fly with them to North Korea.
