NORTH KOREA THIS WEEK NO. 467 (September 20, 2007)
*** PYONGYANG'S RHETORIC
Japan's Asian Diplomacy (Rodong Sinmun, KCNA/ September 15, 2007 ) Japan's "Asian diplomacy" is a very dangerous scenario for militarist reinvasion as it is aimed at Japanizing Asia to establish the order of domination of "Great Empire of Japan" which it failed to do in the past and act an "emperor." Japan is now going busy with "Asian diplomacy" in a bid to give impression that it is standing for the establishment of fair relations with Asian countries and peace.
The real intention of Japan's "Asian diplomacy" is, however, to make an inroad into Asia in real earnest in a bid to establish the sphere of domination, seek its own interests and improve its tarnished international image.
The attitude of Asian countries toward Japan is, however, negative. Such being a hard fact, the Japanese ruling quarters regard it as the most urgent task to burnish its tarnished image and win favor of Asian countries through positive "Asian diplomacy." This is evidenced by "common strategic interests," "co-existence and co-prosperity," "establishment of peace" and "economic aid" much touted by Abe and other Japanese high-ranking officials during their trips to Asian countries last month.
Japan launched hectic "Asian diplomacy" mainly in pursuit of its economic interests. It is an intrinsic economic and animal nature of Japan to sacrifice others for its own interests. Japan's talk that it is "sincere in helping others in economic development" is nothing but sophism which can convince no one.
Japan's oft-repeated "Asian diplomacy" is chiefly aimed at realizing its ambition for reinvasion of Asia.
Abe came out with "broader Asia" initiative during his visit to Asian countries. This was also prompted by Japan's attempt to escalate its infiltration into Asia on a full scale and realize the old dream of "Greater East Asia Co-prosperity Sphere." By realizing "broader Asia" initiative Japan foolishly seeks to contain the DPRK and China and establish its military domination over Asia and, furthermore, become the "leader" of Asia. Japan's loudmouthed theory of "broader Asia" precisely means a slogan for reinvasion of Asia and a logic of domination over it.
Japan is, however, grossly mistaken. It is an anachronistic dream to realize its design for dominating Asia through "Asian diplomacy."

Rodong Sinmun Calls for Putting Revolutionary Slogan into Practice (Editorial, Rodong Sinmun, KCNA/ September 19, 2007)
All party members and other working people should regard the slogan of the Workers' Party of (North) Korea (WPK) "Let us produce, study and live like the anti-Japanese guerrillas!" as guidelines for their struggle and life and more fully embody it in all fields of the revolution and construction and thus resolutely safeguard (North) Korean-style socialism and build a great prosperous powerful nation of Juche (self-reliance) on this land without fail.
The above-said revolutionary slogan is a strategic slogan of the WPK which calls for preserving the revolutionary traditions of Mt. Paektu, the historic root and eternal cornerstone of the (North) Korean revolution, in all fields of the revolution and construction and thus accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche.
This slogan has displayed its tremendous vitality in the socialist construction under the leadership of Kim Jong-il.
This land has greeted the best days in the era of the WPK and witnessed a revolutionary turn in the people's ideological viewpoint, fighting spirit and way of living. It is a shining success made in the course of putting the slogan into practice.
The invincible vitality of the revolutionary traditions of the anti-Japanese struggle was strikingly demonstrated during the "Arduous March" through which the DPRK (North Korea) achieved a great victory under the banner of Songun (military-first).
Kim Jong-il wisely guided the army and people of the DPRK to weather out stern trials and difficulties in the past 1990s in the same spirit of making the "Arduous March" as that prevailed in the forests of Mt. Paektu during the anti-Japanese struggle.
This served as a main source of strength which made it possible for the army and people of the DPRK to fully demonstrate the might of Korean-style socialism in the same spirit as displayed by the anti-Japanese revolutionary forerunners.
This includes the spirit of devotedly defending the leader, the spirit of self-reliance, the spirit of overcoming difficulties and the spirit of revolutionary optimism.
