SEOUL (Yonhap) -- The following is a chronological review of major developments related to North Korea from Sept. 20 - Oct. 3, 2007.
20 The (North) Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) says a joint communique on the establishment of diplomatic ties between the governments of the DPRK (North Korea) and the United Arab Emirates was made public in New York on Sept. 17.
20 The KCNA says Ri Chan-ho was appointed as DPRK ambassador e.p. to Nigeria, according to a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly (SPA).
20 A DPRK delegation led by Vice Foreign Minister Choe Su-hon leaves Pyongyang to participate in the 62nd session of the U.N. General Assembly.
20 Saaeed Eleia Dawood, director of the Organizational Department of Syria's Baath Arab Socialist Party, arrives in Pyongyang.
20 Foreign Minister Pak Ui-chun meets with new Cuban Ambassador to the DPRK Jose Manuel Galego Montano who paid a courtesy call on him.

21 The KCNA says downpours from Typhoon Wipha traveling from Shandong Peninsula of China to the north of the West Sea of Korea hit the DPRK for consecutive days from Sept. 18.
21 The Cabinet of the DPRK hosts a reception for judoka Kye Sun-hui, who won the women's 57-kg championship at the 2007 World Judo Championships.
