Report Delivered by Kim Yong-nam in the National Meeting to Commemorate the 90th Anniversary of Kim Jong-suk's Birth (KCNA/ December 24, 2007)
Kim Jong-suk, born into an extremely poor peasant family in Hoeryong, North Hamgyong Province, on Dec. 24, Juche 6 (1917), embarked on the road of struggle in her teens with rare anti-Japanese and patriotic intention and strong revolutionary consciousness.
The revolutionary career of Kim Jong-suk was a brilliant life of the revolutionary most loyal to President Kim Il-sung as she single-mindedly and devotedly defended him and firmly upheld his idea and cause, a great life of the woman commander of Mt. Paektu as she performed distinguished exploits by taking the lead in carrying out the Songun (military-first) revolutionary cause of Juche (self-reliance) and a noble life of the most outstanding woman revolutionary produced by the (North) Korean nation as she was possessed of lofty personality.
Kim Jong-suk was the supreme incarnation in defending the leader as she single-mindedly upheld Kim Il-sung with transparent revolutionary outlook on the leader and the most loyal lifeguard of the President.
She was the woman commander of Mt. Paektu as she performed undying feats totally dedicating her life to the accomplishment of the Songun revolutionary cause of Juche.
Brilliantly recorded in history are the heroic feats she performed in many battles including Laoling, Xinancha and Hongtoushan battles where she courageously wiped out Japanese imperialist aggressors.
She was a model of genuine revolutionary fighters as she glorified her life with her staunch and noble revolutionary traits and popular character.
It was against the background of the anti-Japanese revolution and the stirring reality of building a new country that she worked heart and soul to bring up leader Kim Jong-il to be successor to the revolution possessed of intense loyalty to the President's idea and cause, ardent patriotism and strong faith in the army and bold pluck as befitting the general of Mt. Paektu.
All the party members, servicepersons and other people should cherish deep in their mind the great feats performed by Kim Jong-suk in laying an eternal foundation for the revolutionary cause of Juche, consolidate the single-minded unity of the revolutionary ranks around Kim Jong-il and become ardent fighters and genuine Songun revolutionary comrades who would share their idea, intention and destiny with their leader.
