SEOUL (Yonhap) -- The following is a chronological review of major developments related to North Korea from Nov. 20-26, 2008.
20 Yang Hyong-sop, vice president of the Presidium of the DPRK (North Korea) Supreme People's Assembly (SPA), meets with a Mongolian friendship delegation led by President of the Federation of Peace and Friendship Organizations of Mongolia D. Tsakhilgaan at the Mansudae Assembly Hall in Pyongyang.
20 Foreign Minister Pak Ui-chun meets with Pekka Wuoristo, new Finnish ambassador to the DPRK who paid a courtesy call on him.
20 The (North) Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) says the Health Education Institute has recently published new medical books which are helpful towards improving the people's health.
20 The 13th national exhibition of invented sports apparatuses and goods is closed, which was held at the Badminton Gymnasium in Chongchun Street in Pyongyang from Nov. 17.
20 A reception is given at the People's Palace of Culture in Pyongyang on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the conclusion of the agreement on economic and cultural cooperation between the governments of the DPRK and China.
20 The KCNA says talks between Choe Thae-bok, chairman of the Supreme People's Assembly, and Sergei Mironov, chairman of the Federation Council of Russia, were held in Moscow on Nov. 19.
20 Kim Yong-nam, president of the SPA Presidium, sends a message of greetings to Runaldo Ronald Venetian, president of Suriname, on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the independence of his country.
21 The DPRK girls football team, winner of the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup New Zealand 2008, return home.
21 Kim Yong-nam sends a message of greetings to Michel Suleiman, president of Lebanon, on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of its independence.
21 Pak Ui-chun meets with Mohammad Shahta Zarab, Palestinian ambassador of the DPRK, when the latter paid a farewell call on him.
21 Kim Yong-nam meets with the outgoing Palestinian ambassador at the Mansudae Assembly Hall.
21 The KCNA says Kwangbok Street in Pyongyang was designated as a model unit for the country in greening and gardening when the autumn land management campaign was making headway.
21 Premier Kim Yong-il sends a congratulatory message to John Philip Key upon his assumption of office as prime minister of New Zealand.
21 Liu Xiaoming, Chinese ambassador to the DPRK, hosts a reception at his embassy on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the conclusion of the agreement on economic and cultural cooperation between the governments of the DPRK and China.

22 The KCNA says a reception was arranged by the DPRK embassy in Beijing on Nov. 20 on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the conclusion of the agreement on economic and cultural cooperation between the DPRK and China.
22 The KCNA says Choe Thae-bok separately met with Yuri Luzhkov, mayor of Moscow, and Valery Yadev, deputy speaker of the Russian State Duma, on Nov. 19.
23 U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice says that a fresh round of the six-way denuclearization talks will be held in China on Dec. 8.
24 The head of the North side delegation to the inter-Korean general-level military talks informs the South's counterpart that it will selectively expel the resident personnel and vehicles of the institutions and enterprises concerned with the authorities in the Kaesong Industrial Zone and Mt. Kumgang tourist area, while totally suspending the tour of Kaesong from Dec. 1.
24 The KCNA says more than 540 units across the country planted rare trees and flower shrubs and bulbs in the arboretum of the Kumsusan Memorial Palace this year, where the late President Kim Il-sung's embalmed body lies in state.

24 The KCNA says North Korean leader Kim Jong-il provided field guidance to the Rakwon Machine Complex and the Soap Shop of the Sinuiju Cosmetics Factory in North Pyongyang Province.

25 The KCNA says the DPRK delegate made a speech made at the plenary meeting of the 63rd UN General Assembly on November 19 which discussed the issue of reforming the UN Security Council.
25 The KCNA says DPRK ceramic work "Longevity Pattern Inlaid Celadon Vase" was awarded a gold prize, the highest prize, at the 2008 International Ceramic Expo in Jingdezhen of China.
25 A photo exhibition is held at the Polish embassy in Pyongyang on the occasion of the day of its independence.
25 A 2009 protocol of exchange in sports between the DPRK Physical Culture and Sports Guidance Commission and the General Administration of Sport of China is signed in Pyongyang.
26 The KCNA says talks between Choe Thae-bok, chairman of the Supreme People's Assembly, and Kasymzhomart Tokayev, president of the Senate of Kazakhstan, were held in Astana on Nov. 24.
26 Pak Ui-chun meets with Peter Hughes, Britain's new ambassador to the DPRK, during Hughes' courtesy call on him.
26 A North Korean children's painting exhibition is held at the Taedong River Club for the Diplomatic Corps in Pyongyang on the 50th anniversary of the victory of the Cuban revolution.
