SEOUL (Yonhap) -- The following is a chronological review of major developments related to North Korea between Oct. 8-14, 2009.
8 Kim Yong-nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly (SPA), sends a message of greetings to Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, president of Uganda, on the 47th anniversary of its independence.
8 North Korean leader Kim Jong-il receives a floral basket and a gift from Mahmoud Abbas, chief of the Palestinian National Authority, on the 64th anniversary of the creation of the Workers' Party of (North) Korea (WPK).
8 The North's Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) says the 12th national exhibition of scientific and technological achievements in the field of public health was held in Pyongyang on Oct. 1-8.
