SEOUL (Yonhap) -- The following is a chronological review of major developments related to North Korea between Nov. 5-11, 2009.

6 The North's Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) says Kim Jong-il enjoyed art performances given by art squads of the February 8 Vinalon Complex and the Hungnam Fertilizer Complex.

   6 The North's Korean Central Television Broadcasting Station says people have begun to move into a large apartment complex newly built at Mansudae Street in downtown Pyongyang.

   7 The KCNA says Kim Jong-il gave field guidance to the newly-built Kuchang Youth Power Station on the Kumjin River and the Tongbong Co-op Farm in Hamju County, South Hamgyong Province.

   7 A friendly delegation from South Hwanghae Province led by O Eung-chang, president of the provincial people's committee, leaves Pyongyang for China.

   7 A delegation of education officials led by Ryang Hak-sun, deputy minister of education, returns home after a visit to Russia.

   8 Kim Yong-nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly (SPA), sends a message of greetings to Norodom Sihamoni, king of Cambodia, on the 56th anniversary of its independence.

   8 Premier Kim Yong-il sends a message of greetings to Hun Sen, prime minister of Cambodia, on the 56th anniversary of its independence.

   8 The KCNA says Kim Jong-il inspected the (North) Korean People's Army (KPA) Unit 1224.

   8 Minju Choson, organ of the Cabinet, criticized "Operational Plan 5029," thought to have recently been completed by South Korea and the U.S., as "a proclamation of an aggressive war" against North Korea.

   9 A delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland led by Division Head Pierre Combernous, a delegation of the All-China Federation of Trade Union led by Vice-Chairwoman Qiao Chuanxiu and a delegation of the China Foreign Languages Press Publishing and Distribution Administration led by Director Zhou Mingwei arrive in Pyongyang.

   9 Jack Lang, special envoy to French President Nicolas Sarkozy, and his party fly into Pyongyang for a visit.

   9 The KCNA says Kim Jong-il, together with KPA servicepersons, watched a performance given by an art squad of the Ministry of People's Security.

   10 Kim Yong-nam sends a message of greetings to Jose Eduardo Dos Santos, president of Angola, on the 34th anniversary of its independence.

   10 The Supreme Command of the KPA demands an apology from Seoul over a Nov. 10 naval clash on the inter-Korean western sea border, calling the skirmish a "grave armed provocation" by the South that targeted a patrol boat on routine duty.

   10 Foreign Minister Pak Ui-chun holds talks with French presidential envoy Jack Lang at Mansudae Assembly Hall in Pyongyang.

   10 Kim Yong-nam sends a congratulatory message to Sheikh Halifa Bin Zayed Al-Nahayan upon his reelection as president of the United Arab Emirates.

   10 Senior party and state officials watch an art performance given in Pyongyang by the art squads of the February 8 Vinalon Complex and the Hungnam Fertilizer Complex.

   10 Uriminzokkiri, known as the North's official government Website, scorns Seoul's offer of 10,000 tons of corn aid as "narrow-minded."

   10 Tomasz Szczepanowski, charge d'affaires ad interim of the Polish embassy in Pyongyang, holds a reception at his embassy to celebrate Poland's independence day.

   11 Pak Ui-chun meets with the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland led by Division Head Pierre Combernous who paid a courtesy call on him.
