SEOUL (Yonhap) -- The following is a chronological review of major developments related to North Korea between Nov. 19-25, 2009.

19 Choe Thae-bok, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of (North) Korea (WPK), meets with a Chinese Communist Party delegation led by Wang Wei, vice minister of Supervision of China who doubles as member of the Standing Committee of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the CPC, at Mansudae Assembly Hall in Pyongyang.

   19 The governments of North Korea and Bulgaria sign an agreement in Sofia on cooperation in the fields of public health and medical science.

   19 A delegation of political officers from the (North) Korean People's Army (KPA) led by Kim Jong-gak, first-vice director of the KPA General Political Bureau, returns home after visiting China.

   20 The (North) Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) says North Korean leader Kim Jong-il provided field guidance to the July 18 Cattle Farm under KPA Unit 580.

   20 A foreign ministry spokesman says Pyongyang resolutely dismisses the Nov. 20 U.N. resolution on human rights in North Korea.

   21 Kim Yong-nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly (SPA), sends a message of greetings to Michel Suleiman, president of Lebanon, for the 66th anniversary of Lebanon's independence.

   21 A delegation of the State Maritime Supervision Bureau led by Director Ko Nung-du leaves Pyongyang by air to attend the 26th general assembly of the International Maritime Organization to be held in Britain.

   22 The KCNA says Kim Jong-il inspected the headquarters of the Ministry of People's Security.

   22 The KCNA says Kim Jong-il enjoyed an art performance given by members of the itinerant art squads of the Kim Jong Thae Electric Locomotive Complex, the Taean Heavy Machine Complex and the Tobacco Complex and the art circle of the Pyongyang Children's Foodstuff Factory.

   22 The KCNA says Kim Jong-il enjoyed an art performance given by soldiers of a company under KPA Unit 147.

   22 Col. General Liang Guanglie, minister of China's National Defense, flies into Pyongyang.

   22 The People's Armed Forces arranges a reception in honor of the visiting Chinese defense minister.

   22 People's Armed Forces Minister Kim Yong-chun meets with the Chinese defense minister.

   23 The KCNA says Kim Jong-il provided field guidance to the Unsan Tool Factory and lit a torch to "bring about a radical turn in tool production."

   23 A North Korean judiciary delegation led by Kang Sok-ju, deputy chief of the Central Court, leaves Pyongyang to visit China.

   24 Kim Yong-nam sends a message of greetings to Runaldo Ronald Venetian, president of Suriname, marking the 34th anniversary of its independence.

   24 The Chinese defense minister lays a wreath at the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt. Taesong.

   24 Sergei Mikhailovich Mironov, chairman of the Federation Council of Russia, flies into Pyongyang.

   24 Premier Kim Yong-il meets with Mironov, who paid a courtesy call on him at Mansudae Assembly Hall.

   24 Foreign Minister Pak Ui-chun confers with the delegation of the Foreign Ministry of Singapore headed by Bilahari Kausikan, second permanent secretary of the ministry, at the Mansudae Assembly Hall.

   24 Choe Thae-bok holds talks with Mironov at Mansudae Assembly Hall.

   24 Senior party and state officials watch an art performance given by members of the itinerant art squads of the Kim Jong Thae Electric Locomotive Complex, the Taean Heavy Machine Complex and the Tobacco Complex and the art group of the Pyongyang Children's Foodstuff Factory at the People's Palace of Culture.

   24 Kim Yong-chun holds talks with the Chinese defense minister.

   24 The KCNA says Kim Jong-il provided field guidance to industrial establishments in North Pyongan Province, including the Ryangchaek Bearing Factory.

   24 The KPA brass band, led by chief O Ma-jin, leaves Pyongyang for China.

   24 Kim Yong-nam sends a message of sympathy to China's President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao in connection with a gas explosion in a coal mine in Heilongjiang Province that resulted in significant casualties.

   24 The SPA gives a reception in honor of the visiting chairman of the Federation Council of Russia at Mansudae Assembly Hall.

   25 Kim Jong-il receives the Chinese defense minister Liang Guanglie.

   25 Kim Yong-nam meets with Sergei Mikhailovich Mironov, chairman of the Federation Council of Russia. The Russian official returned home after the meeting.
