SEOUL (Yonhap) -- The following is a chronological review of major developments related to North Korea between Dec. 3-9.
December 3 Kim Yong-nam, president of the Supreme People's Assembly (SPA), meets with a delegation of the Chinese National People's Congress led by Chen Zhili, vice chairwoman of its Standing Committee.
3 The (North) Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) says mosaics depicting the late President Kim Il-sung and leader Kim Jong-il were made on several buildings around Pyongyang.
3 Yang Hyong-sop, vice president of the Supreme People's Assembly, meets with a Ugandan government delegation headed by Namuyangu Kachya Jenipher Byakatonda, minister of water and environment, at the Mansudae Assembly Hall in Pyongyang.
4 North Korean Leader Kim Jong-il makes a scientific clarification of the characteristics of the present times, saying the popular masses are steering the development of history.

5 Kim Yong-nam sends a message of greetings to Bhumibol Adulyadej, king of Thailand, for his birthday and the kingdom's national day.
5 Kim Yong-nam sends a congratulatory message to Obiang Nguema Mbasogo upon his reelection as president of Equatorial Guinea.
