SEOUL (Yonhap) -- The following is a chronological review of major developments related to North Korea between Dec. 17-23.
17 Kim Yong-nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly (SPA), sends a message of greetings to Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, emir of Qatar, on its independence day.
17 Premier Kim Yong-il sends a message of greetings to Prime Minister of Qatar Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jabor Al-Thani on the independence day of Qatar.
17 A delegation of U.S. businessmen headed by General Charles Boyd, president and CEO of the BENS (Business Executives for National Security), leaves Pyongyang, ending a four-day visit.
17 Kim Yong-nam meets with a group of Koreans in Japan, led by Kwon Sun-hee, advisor to the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan, which is visiting the socialist homeland on the 50th anniversary of the repatriation of Koreans from the country.
