N. Korean construction workers in S. Africa to earn cash: source
SEOUL, March 15 (Yonhap) -- North Korea has sent workers to South Africa to help build stadiums for the upcoming World Cup finals there and earn badly needed foreign currency, a South Korean government source said Monday.
The source did not say how many North Koreans are working in the African country, which is making its final push to prepare for the global football competition in June. The source, however, said the workers appear to be some of the tens of thousands of North Korean nationals that the communist state has sent around the world for years to work labor-intensive jobs and earn U.S. dollars.
