S. Korean foreign minister heads to China for talks on N. Korea
By Byun Duk-kun INCHEON, March 17 (Yonhap) -- South Korean Foreign Minister Yu Myung-hwan left for China on Wednesday for talks expected to focus on resuming six-nation talks on ending North Korea's nuclear programs and other bilateral issues.
Yu will first stop in Shanghai to check Seoul's preparations to open a Korean booth at the upcoming World Expo 2010, set to open in May in the Chinese city, and also conditions for a possible visit there by South Korean President Lee Myung-bak, according to foreign ministry officials.
